Jacob J Kass, 90 folk artist, died Aug. 10 in Largo, Fla. He began working at age 13 in his father's wagon and truck-painting business in Brooklyn After retiring to Vermont in 1976 he began painting shows of the local area and of fresh York City on hand saws, utilizing the shape and details of the tool in the images. In the '80 he showed with Allan Stone and later Nancy Hoffman. A. Reynolds Morse, 85 collector and planter of the Salvador Dali Museum, St Petersburg died Aug. 15 in Seminole, Fla. A businessman who was felicitous in the plastics industry, Morse and his wife Eleanor lay opened a passion for Dali's work in the 1940 and eventually amassed a collection of a certain quantity of 100 paintings and more than 1000 works upon paper by the artist, including numerous prime examples from the 1930 and '40 In 1971 with the artist's encouragement, Morse make opened the Salvador Dali Museum in a wing of his company's headquarters near Cleveland. The museum published a number of works by and about the artist, including several written by the agency of Morse himself. Cramped for space, he sought another place of abode for the collection, and donated the works to the city of St Petersburg after the town proffered a capacious facility. The museum uncloseed there in 1982 and has proven to be individual of Florida's most popular art museums, drawing a certain number of 225,000 visitors last year.

Eric Stiebel, 89 fresh York art dealer, died upon Sept. 23. Born in Germany, Stiebel fl the Nazis in 1939 and settl in Manhattan. There, he established Rosenberg & Stiebel, the U branch of his family's Frankfurt-am-Main art gallery, which was seted in the 1860s.
