Design Triennial at Cooper-Hewitt - Brief Articleupon Mar. 7, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in of recent origin York kicked off its first triennial for contemporary American design. "Design tillage Now" is organized by Cooper Hewitt adjunct curators Donald Albrecht and Ellen Lupton and visitant curator Steven Skov Hold. Among the corporate selections are Motorola, bicycle manufacturer Cannondale, the architecture and interior design team LOT/EK and Web designers diverting Garbage and Razorfish. The Cooper-Hewitt also announced the initiation of its National Design Awards. Five prizes will be given yearly, individual to an individual for lifetime achievement, single to a corporation for consistent design quality, and three to individuals or companies for exceptional fresh work. The museum is assembling a nominating panel of above 250 professionals. Winners will be chosen by means of a jury consisting this year of David Kelly co-founder of the industrial-design company IDEO, architect Daniel Libeskind and professional homemaker Martha Stewart.
