Katharine to leeward Reid, director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts since 1991 has been named director of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Prior to heading the VMFA, she was substitute director of the Art Institute of Chicago (1986-91) Reid is the daughter of Chinese-art scholar Sherman E to leeward who was head of the Cleveland institution from 1958 to 1983 She replaces Robert P Bergman, who died last May.
