Bill McDowell at Jan Kesner - review of exhibitions - Brief ArticleIn his beautifully nuanced black-and-white photographs put in Lily Dale, a tiny community of active spiritualists in upstate of recent origin York, Bill McDowell plays with the notion of photography as a "medium" that can communicate the couple the everyday and the other-worldly. Established in the late 19th hundred and once widely publicized, Lily Dale today is dwelling to 35 practicing mediums who tender clients contact with the spirit world.
