$1-Million Gift to YaddoYaddo, the artists' and writers' colony in upstate novel York, recently received a $1-million gift from the investment firm Spencer Trask & Co and its establisher and chairman, Kevin Kimberlin, along with his wife, Joni. Yaddo is located upon the 400-acre Saratoga Springs estate of the financier and philanthropist Spencer Trask (1844-1909) for whom Kimberlin's firm was named. This gift advances on the heels of the largest-ever donation to Yaddo, the entire $3-million estate of the novelist Patricia Highsmith, which was announced last April.
