Berlinische Galerie Goes UndergroundThe Berlinische Galerie, for the past year a museum without a abiding-place appears set to move to novel quarters: the cavernous subterranean vaults of a 19th-century brewery in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. The museum, baseed in 1975 and specializing in Berlin-related late and contemporary art, formerly occupied the prestigious Martin Gropius Bau near the city center When that building was designated a time to come national exhibition hall, a difficult search for a of recent origin space began. With Berlin's city conduct pleading poverty, the roughly $18-million renovation is being financed largely by means of a private investors' group that includes Deutsche Bank and real-estate firms.
