Ginsberg TributeA novel limited-edition book celebrating the life and work of Beat bard Allen Ginsberg was released upon Nov. 24. Published by Anna Condo, the work is a labor of delight in and an art work in itself. Forty-six artists and writers, all friends and admirers of the author of poems contributed original art works, piece of poetrys or texts, and all (except of course, three who are deceased) have signed each of the 200 copies. The 14-by-12-inch, 96-page work features handmade paper and has a hand-sewn binding and silkscreened woven fabric cover. Each copy contains mountained photographs by Nan Goldin, Robert Frank, Gordon Ball, Dennis Hopper Gus Van Sant and others. Among the artists contributing original drawings, linocuts and lithographs are Donald Baechler, Louise Bourgeois, Francesco Clemente George Condo, Brice Marden, Elizabeth Murray, Claes Oldenburg Nam June Paik, Richard Serra and Robert Wilson. piece of poetrys and short texts from like diverse writers as William s Burroughs, Gregory Corso, Jack Kerouac, Arthur Miller, Eileen Myles, Bernard Picasso, Joe Strummer Quincy Troupe and Ginsberg's father and brother, are included along with an original music score by means of Philip Glass.
