Alison Hildreth at Arden - Boston, Massachusetts - Review of Exhibitions - Brief ArticleThe painter Alison Hildreth studied at the Arts scholars League and the National Academy of Art in the '50s; in 1976 she received a stage in fine arts from the Portland seminary of Art. She has shown her work quite through Maine, where she lives, in of recent origin York at Kouros Gallery, and elsewhere. This exhibition of 21 oil-on-linen paintings from 1993-96 was her first solo present to view in Boston. Hildreth's paintings feature abstract configurations that protect to be dramatic and vigorous, and have organic qualities as well.
