MULTIMEDIA SOFTWARE EVALUATION FORM FOR TEACHERSThe evaluation of educational software has become a critical information skill for teachers. Based upon the definition of "highly qualified teacher" as charged in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) fresh teachers are "not qualified" if their program of research does not include an Instructional Technology class. It is recognized that the greatest in quantity successful technology-using teachers function with relative independence more as instructional designers than exercise planners. As such, educators are then asked to select from many different activities that were created to fit the necessitys and preferences of groups of scholars different from their own, and adapt these activities for use in their have a title to classrooms. Normally there is no guidance for the selection of multimedia software based instructional activities. The authors have discloseed a software evaluation form for pre-service teachers to use to assess multimedia software to be used in their instructional design. The form is diagnostic and prescriptive. The evaluation form is divided into four composings headed by a demographics section. The material substance of the form covers 43 evaluation criteria in four major categories: contented Student Involvement, Ease of Use, and Design, Esthetics. satisfied criteria comprise 30% of the form with another 20% of the criteria pertaining to pedagogy. Software Evaluation Form for Teachers The Project School are publicly receiving increased funds for multimedia software for classrooms. There is a ne for useful software in the schools, and there is a ne to know by what means to evaluate software and not naively rely upon advertisements. Evaluators of multimedia software for education must have the skills to critically evaluate and make decisions not alone about format, but also satisfied and the process of learning. The evaluation form discloseed in this paper is a simple and practical crops that presents a balanced plant of guidelines for evaluating and selecting educational multimedia software. Several national organizations (eg ISTE) and states (eg Alabama) have announced their technology standards for teacher certification, teachers, administrators and scholars in the past two years. These sum of two units events show the importance of using quality software evaluation forms for teaching and developing learner evaluation skills and to know "what to gaze for." As more schools use multimedia software, teachers are increasingly having their learners use the programs for a variety of learning activities. Many teachers are finding multimedia software to be a valuable teaching tool that proffers a bonanza of learning activities for pupils Teachers must give students materials that are not offensive, outdated, or biased. Teachers ne to provide objective data regarding the instructional effectiveness of the multimedia software before purchase. The object of this project is to exhibit a multimedia software evaluation form that engages pre-service teachers in the selection of materials for disclosure of instructional activities that can be used in multidisciplinary environments. The form is diagnostic and prescriptive. The authors gazeed at the current software evaluation tool being used at the authors' university and determined it extremityed to be upgraded to suitable the new advances in computer software. Pre-service teachers ne to gain knowledge of the constituents of good software (e.g. satisfied ease of use, design, etc) A review of "what's without there" was conducted to diocese if there was a popular evaluation form that could be adopted and to diocese what the research said should be in an evaluation form. greatest in quantity of the evaluation forms concentrated upon the technology and mechanics and did not gaze at pedagogy and content. It was also noted that there is no standard evaluation criteria or belonging to all terminology. The authors decided to exhibit an evaluation form with the drift of the project to provide an evaluation and selection instrument of multimedia software that met the requirements of a certain number of balance between mechanics, content and pedagogy that is user friendly. The Pilot This throw consisted of the development of an evaluation form for multimedia software programs for teaching pre-service teachers by what means to evaluate multimedia software programs for their classes, academys students, and individual use. However, the form can be used by means of in-service teachers and anyone other with knowledge of multimedia software. pupils were given an assignment to use the form to evaluate three instructor provided multimedia software programs. pupils will learn to use the form to evaluate different stamps of software components (e.g., tutorial, drill & practice, simulation, instructional games, branching, riddle solving, etc.). The initial trial of the evaluation form was done using pupils who were taking their introduction to technology class upon line (Group 1) and scholars who were taking the class in-resident (Group 2) learners in the Group 1 were asked without instruction upon the form to evaluate three software packages. scholars in the Group 2 were asked to evaluate three software packages on the contrary were given instruction on the evaluation form. There were 25 software packages that the pupils could evaluate. The expert score was arrived at averaging three technology professors' scores.
