Psyllium is a soluble fiber that approachs from a plant most commonly grown in India. Soluble fiber becomes gelatinous and sticky in water. It is not absorbed in the small bowel, on the other hand is broken down in the large bowel and becomes a sustenance source for the bacteria that live in the colon Psyllium is a bulking agent that helps bowel regularity.
