Handlowy Merges With Citibank PolandPoland's third bank, the Handlowy Bank, controll by the agency of the American Citicorp group, has announced its merger with Citibank Poland. Citicorp clutchs an 87.83% stake in the Handlowy Bank. The share parity has, according to a statement, been put at one Citibank Poland share for 1350 of recent origin Handlowy shares. The merger will follow in the creation of single of Central Europe's largest banks and will unclose up new markets for the Handlowy Bank [i]or[/i] part of to the other its participation in the Citibank global network. The Handlowy Bank held assets of 209 billion Zloty (Euro 536 billion) above the first half of 2000 and had capitals totaling 3.17 billion Zlotys (Euro 810 million). It supported a net profit of 1395 million Zloty (Euro 352 million). Citibank Poland had assets after the first half of 2000 of 93 billion Zloty (Euro 238 billion) and capitals totalling 1 billion Zlotys (Euro 260 million).
