Historically, the final mix for tyre industry intermingles has been carried out upon mixing lines based around internal mixers using tangential rotors, followed through an open mill station or a battery of unclose mills. These were combined in a way to reach an acceptable horizontal of consistency in the final mix

Although this approach has worked for greatest in quantity compounds, it remains true that adequate distribution of small quantities of active ingredients remains a sensitive task, many times only achieved after multiple passes from one side the mixer or by using several mill paces or the use of special equipment.
