Apple Drops a Nano Bomb



If Apple and Motorola's announcement of the iTunes ROKR phone earlier today wasn't at all surprising, Apple made up for it in a big way—by announcing a whole fresh iPod. It's not an iPod shift with a screen, or an iPod mini with flash memory, on the other hand the best of both worlds. The flash memory-based iPod nano weighs 15 ounce and is thinner than a Number 2 pencil, has a bright color guard and utilizes the characteristic iPod click-wheel for navigation. Oh yeah, and it tend hitherwards in black as well as white.

This summer's already seen major shakeups of the iPod line. Just sum of two units months ago Apple announced the addition of color protections to iPods and the elimination of the iPod photo line. Now Apple is removing the mini from the iPod family, and saying hello to the nano.

The nano includes photo-display capabilities, and can also present to view album art on the color guard Apple says it delivers 14 hours of battery life.



The flash player has the same connector as the iPod and iPod mini, in like manner it will presumably be compatible with a great quantity [i]or[/i] amount of of the pile of iPod accessories already available. The nano's headphone jack is located upon the bottom of the player, admitting which may not be compatible with a certain number of accessories. In addition to the novel player, Apple announced today an update to the iTunes Music Store. iTunes 5 features a slightly modified direct the eye a new search bar for faster song-hunting, parental directions album reviews, and shuffle customization. Apple has also upp the iTunes catalog to 2 million tracks, with novel additions including Madonna's catalog and all six Harry pudder audiobooks. iTunes 5 is available now as a independent download from www.apple.com/itunes.
