Making a difference with dietary guidance: from science to promotion

The Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion is committed to improving the health of Americans through not only developing dietary guidance that links scientific research to the nutrition necessitys of consumers but also by the agency of promoting that guidance. The nutrition-related research not awayed in this issue, as well as in other issues, is representative of individual of the first steps urgencyed to make a difference in people's overall health. This issue, for example, reports upon research that examines factors influencing children's consumption of meals serv in the Summer nourishment Service Program, factors affecting fare security among first-time WIC participants, and contributors to bread insecurity among rural families. The Center's update upon healthful eating, as measured by dint of the Healthy Eating Index, exhibits that most Americans' diets ne to improve.
