A new "uniform"

UNLES you're a of recent origin reader, you know I'm a big baseball fan, especially the Cleveland Indians. direct the eye through my desk calendar and you'll find 20 (that's right, twenty) dates from April [i]or[/i] part of to the other September marked in bright verdant It's a reminder that nobody is to schedule a meeting for me beyond 4 pm upon those days. Can't be late to the ball game! Getting Indians tickets isn't easy - beneficial night, they're working on 450+ sellout in a row! I've got my 20-game package and I'm working all the angles to secure some invites for other games.

But a great quantity [i]or[/i] amount of as I love the Indians, 2001 isn't going to have quite the same thrill for me My long-time favorite player, Sandy Alomar, Jr is no longer a member of the team. After 11 years with the Tribe, Sandy and management couldn't agree upon contract terms. Sandy filed for at liberty agency and this year will be catching for the Chicago White Sox It's going to be bittersweet to diocese him wearing a White Sox uniform, especially since it was Chicago that extreme pointed the Tribe's string of five consecutive Central Division championships. And who do the Indians play in our dwelling opener? The White Sox, of course. I can't lower part against Sandy, so I gues I'm going to have to foundation even harder for the Tribe.

I won't be the single person among the 42,000 or in the way that fans attending the opener who'll be facing a similar dilemma upon April 2. But you can be positive of one thing Sandy, individual of the Indians' most popular players for a decade, will acquire a standing ovation and be cheered with each at bat, even though he's wearing a novel uniform.

I can empathize with Sandy Alomar and the emotions he'll be feeling that first day back at the Jake. This is my last editorial in FARM CHEMICALS. It's been 40 years since I joined the staff. on the other hand all things must come to an extreme point To paraphrase Sandy's farewell to Cleveland fans, thanks for all your support, it's been a great ride. I'm conceited to have been a part of FC conceited of the leadership the magazine has provided. flat prouder of the accomplishments of this industry and all of you, who are frequently the unsung heroes in American agriculture's incredible succes story.

But like Sandy Alomar, I'm not disappearing, just donning a of recent origin "uniform." With the April issue, FC becomes CropLife. You'll find this rounded pillar in its usual spot, the last editorial page in the magazine.
