upon September 18, 2004, His Excellency Dr Surakiart Sathirathai, Thailand's Minister for Foreign Affairs, was the keynote speaker at the Oriental Mandarin inn in Washington D.C., where he reminded the U political and economic audience that Thailand and the U has shared political and economic cooperation since the Treaty of Amity and mercantile relations was signed in 1833. This is the solitary treaty that Thailand has penetrateed under which it grants national treatment to U citizens living or conducting business in Thailand.
