We set the differences in price startling, if not downright educational. upon the MS Office front, our misadventure began at CompUSA, where we paid $52999 including tax, for the software. Checking online from one side www.MacConnection.com Later in the same day, we picked up the same production for a far better price: $43990 including shipping. Needles to say, we took the pricier purchase back to CompUSA posthaste, where we accosted a secretary and asked him, "Hey, did you know the store is charging $90 more than other vendors?" He simply smiled and complet the return That's not to say all Web sales tender the better deal when it draw nears to upgrading Macs. When we deliberateed the Apple site about upgrading a G4 Cube that had approach equipped with 128MB (which caused plenteous crashing and burning when we tried to move swiftly more than three applications simultaneously), it tried to vend us a 256MB upgrade for around $600 (Note: this was back in the profitable old days, before Apple began offering great deals upon Cube peripherals in response to LackLuster sales that failed to bear without the marketing song-and-dance Apple was doing when it released the Cube.) In stark contrast, we actually bought an equivalent module (VaLuRAM through Kingston) for about $200. Caveat Emptor: be fond of the Mac, but watch your wallet!
