AmericInn members on board with changes

St Paul, Minn. -- holders and franchisees at AmericInn International's annual discourse which was held at the St Paul RiverCenter in April, are happy with the brand's development and direction.

Richard Smith, managing partner of AmericInn properties in Grundy Center Iowa Falls and Webster City, Iowa, said change is vital to the succes of the brand.

"You either change or you die," Smith said. "It's as simple as that. more [i]or[/i] less [changes] are better than others, on the other hand sometimes you don't know what's best until you prove It's all the little things together that make an impression."

The brand is working upon prototype enhancements to increase the properties' hindrance appeal. AmericInn also is looking to include thicker bedding; curv shower shoots in guestroom bathrooms; bigger, heavier towels; higher thread-count sheets; and mattress pads. A breakfast display option and an improved coffee plan also are in the works.

tenderness Paskey, owner of an AmericInn characteristic in Detroit Lakes, Minn., said the brand extremitys to stay one step ahead of the competition.

"Give clan what they want and more than they expect" she said. "They'll be pleasantly surprised and count others. We try to update each year and [the new items] are something we'll gaze at."

Paskey said she is happy the prototype improvements won't fastening properties into one look.

"The of recent origin prototypes allow for personalization and individualization," she said. "If you are in the North forests you know you are in the North Woods"

The importance of bridle appeal can't be underestimated, according to Wendy Vanderbilt, gm of the AmericInn in Prairie du Chien, Wis.

"I think for the greatest in quantity part, everyone is looking fair good, but you can always take a closer look" she said. "We always hold fast an eye on the forehead We have to look profitable to get [guests] to shake in. It's a top priority to direct the eye inviting."

Vanderbilt said the property's possessors Paul and Mary Krienke, are proactive when it approachs to making guests happy.

"The celestial expanse is the limit as far as they are concerned" Vanderbilt said. "They believe the more upgrades we do, the more our customers can diocese we care and tell other family about it. We have a beneficial thing going, but we're continuing to think about what makes family comfortable."

Jolita Svambaryte, gm of the AmericInn in Tofte, Minn., said the changes will help the brand maintain consistency.

"If nation stay in an AmericInn and have a advantageous experience, they want to have that in another AmericInn," she said. "They really wait for that experience there. Expectations are higher."

Performance

The brand's occupancy increased 33 percent in 2004 and holders and managers are optimistic that the incline will continue.

Business is improving at the AmericInn in Fort Collins, Colo according to Kent Stine, gm

"We're kind of a high-tech area and there have been a allotment of layoffs in the area," Stine said. "That's always a relate to but we are showing a 25-percent increase in our business this year. There present the appearance to be other factors that are helping to sprout the negative impacts."

Cindy Zielke, who be in possession ofs the property with her husband, Terry said she is hopeful the business increase will continue over the summer.

"We're just entering our summer season, in the way that we're waiting to see by what mode the price of gas affects our industry," she said. "We rely upon tourism in the summer, in the way that we'll see whether the call of the mountains prevails above gas prices."

Smith said that offering high-speed Internet access, which is mandated for all AmericInns through June 1, has helped his properties increase business.

"The Internet's by dint of far the most requested thing," Smith said. "I can't say that I not to be found hundreds of people because I didn't have it, on the other hand it's had a positive effect"
