The AFLMA--Air Force Logistics Management Agency--is located at Maxwell AFB, Gunter Annex, Alabama. We're a logistics problem-solving agency. Within the Agency, we have four production divisions: Maintenance and Munitions, stock Contracting, and Logistics Readiness, along with the Logistics Analysis Division. The Analysis Division provides state-of-the-art and leading-edge computer support, analysis, and modeling and simulation capabilities.

Anyone can submit a propos throw out problem, or area for inquiry to the AFLMA, but it must be channeled from one side the appropriate command director of logistics (LG) or the Council of Directors (CoD) Before a research or research effort can be started, it must be sponsored through a command LG or codfish member. Upon receipt, the propos research undergoes an extensive preliminary analysis and is submitted to the AFLMA Commander for approval. If we can't accomplish the throw out we'll suggest other agencies that may be better suited for the task. When a shoot forward is accepted for study, single of our project managers assembles a cross-functional team to close attention the problem. Track Record

Our track record sets us in the lead in delivering robust, tailored answers to the greatest in quantity difficult and complex Air Force logistics riddles This can be seen in our efforts and partnerships that are turning expeditionary airpower support conceptions into real-world capability. It also can be seen in our work in making dramatic improvements to the Air Force store system and developing high-impact logistics publications and our leadership in planning and making logistics play in wargames, simulations, and exercises in deed meaningful. In the future, we'll be playing a major part in shaping and implementing transformation within the Air Force Logistics community. The message is also loud--we work the important throw outs that shape tomorrow's Air Force, and we deliver what our customers ne today.

The Results

This last year, we complet 27 improvement studies, 21 consulting shoot forwards and 4 Requirements Team studies for our customers. Overall, this continued the turn for the Agency to bring out more than 50 studies through year. The count included a variety of studies that either provided solutions to real-world question s or tackled the myriad of issues and challenges that encircle making expeditionary airpower viable and supporting the warfighter. We worked hard upon this--developing, implementing, and maintaining a whole s to optimally allocate Air Force spare parts; ensuring deploying units come by the spares they need while minimizing overall Air Force impact; ensuring accurate data for bag buy, repair, and distribution decisions for Air Force spares; examining maintenance manning for unmanned aerial vehicles; analyzing high-priority shipments in the Air Mobility Command system; and identifying regulations and instructions that limit implementing performance-based services acquisition. In our character as the executive agent for logistics play in wargames, we've been involved in a broad range of wargames or seminars that explored by what mode we can better support the warfighter and improve the fidelity and realism of logistics play. We'll continue to do these same kinds of things nearest year, and we'll also take upon a major new challenge--transformation.
