From SpainLast May, the Asociacion Espanola de Nomenclatura, Taxonomia y Diagnostico s de Enfermeria (AENTDE) organized its fifth international symposium of nursing diagnoses in Valencia (http://www.aentde.com) beneath the motto: "Innovation in the proces of taking care: A conjunction of tools and knowledge". In this fact more than 400 nurses met for the end of approaching different aspects of nursing knowledge and the tools that lead to innovation in the caring proces We have tried to lay together the contributions of important theoreticians in order to give a framework to the use of nursing terminologies, the dimension of collaboration with other professionals and the research in the clinical practice. In order to achieve our objectives, we have had the invaluable help of our colleagues from the institute of Nursing of La Fe of Valencia, from Adolf Guirao Goris, who is president of the organization committee, and directed the organization with great succes and from the contributions of our dear American and Spanish colleagues. It has been a luxuriousness for us to have the masterful contributions of Jean Watson, who brought light upon her "theory of human caring" that she herself has unraveled and on which there are many clusters in our country working; Daniel J Pesut who made known his work upon the OPT model (outcome at hand state test), method of critical and creative reasoning to teach the use of nursing languages in Spain; Lynda Juall Carpenito, who visited our region again to provide us with her novel contributions on the bifocal pattern which integrates the collaborative dimension in the clinical nursing practice; and Connie Delaney who explained to us the important works carried without by the NDEC (Nursing Diagnosis Extension and Classification). On the other hand, we would not make justice if we did not underline the importance and quality of the contributions made by the agency of Spanish presenters. I should stand without the quality of the more than a hundr works not absented communications and posters, which give us an idea of the serviceable health that nursing terminologies take pleasure in in Spain. At the general members assembly, a series of foreseen changes took place, a certain number of of which I would like to mention. The election of of recent origin board members, Mercedes Ugalde Apalategui, has ceased to be the president of AENTDE, and Rosa Gonzalez Gutierrez Solana now stand in her place. Rosa is a nurture whose lengthy service to our region is well recognized. For several years she has been a member of AENTDE's board, greatest in quantity recently as vice-president. Her work has focused in directing the continuous education program of the Hospital composite Juan Canalejo of the Coruna and she is a lock opener person because of her leadership in the implementation of nursing care plans in the computerized programs that are used in many hospitals in Spain. I would also like to announce that Adolf Guirao Goris has become the vice-president of AENTDE (and therefore the nearest president). He has been upon AENTDE's board since its beginning, and has been the first Spanish nourish to submit a nursing diagnoses which was accepted at NANDA's last conference At at hand we have closed a revolution of time in the process of disseminating of nursing taxonomies in Spain.
