LEAD: Test run of nuke fuel-reprocessing plant under way in Rokkasho.

Japan Nuclear firing Ltd. began an initial experiment run Tuesday of its nuclear fuel-reprocessing plant in Aomori Prefecture using deplet uranium, taking a pace forward in implementing Japan's nuclear firing cycle policy.


The uranium experiment at the plant in the village of Rokkasho, aimed at checking the operation of equipment and devices, is awaited to last about a year after which JNFL plans to management an active test using worn out nuclear fuel, company officials said.
