Intelligence in design: robots as blank slates for study

Intelligence and stupidity are delicate topics. They throw back assessments of character that can scar or heal us. at the same time what it means to be intelligent or stupid is, well, confusing. Worse nevertheless use of intelligence and stupidity as labels are far from universal. Are "Spirit" and "Opportunity" abundantly autonomous robots on Mars or solely fancy remote-controlled cars? The latter: they are high-priced old-fashioned toys with some sophisticated equipment. Barakova recognizes feelingly the yawing gap between robotics and human behavior.

For autonomous change the robot needs to localize and simultaneously create a map or have algorithms enabling navigation of its environment. It also emergencys to adapt in response to changes in its environment and in its perceptual inputs--that is, a robot emergencys to process information dynamically in real-time.

Examining the issues that arise with mobility is solitary one approach to developing robot with a step of autonomy. The algorithms involved do enable more [i]or[/i] less multitasking abilities.
