The relationship between disposition and career success: a British study.

Career succes is defined as extrinsic or objective and intrinsic or subjective accomplishments of individuals in their work lives (eg justice Cable, Boudreau, & Bretz, 1995) In extrinsic terminuss careers are evaluated with the use of external relation points or norms; while in intrinsic limits careers are evaluated by individuals themselves using personal subjective definitions of succes or failure (Gattiker & Larwood, 1986 1988) A dual operationalization of career succes as extrinsic and intrinsic is necessary (eg Gattiker & Larwood, 1988; justice et al., 1995) because extrinsic and intrinsic career evaluations do not always overlap (eg Poole Langan-Fox, & Omodei,
