There is a certain number of profit in interpreting Lacasse and Gomory's troubling findings ("Is Graduate Social Work Education Promoting a Critical Approach to Mental Health Practice?" JSWE 393 Fall 2003) as conscious professional choice, perhaps bias and smooth censorship, rather than the accumulated, inadvertent custom of the field. In the adjoining matter of the argument, the "critical approach" is scientific scholarship. From initial conceptualization to the consideration of issues social work in mental health education is more doctrinaire and mechanical
