Because the author intends for this work to be useful to a wide audience ranging from undergraduate and graduate learners through "generators of biohazardous waste," governmental regulatory agencies, scientists and engineers addressing the moot points of biohazardous waste, and "concern members of the public," it provides the couple deep and broad coverage of the make submissive matter.

The author divides this work into three broad areas: risks associated with the biohazardous waste stream, "policy" (regulations, guidelines, industry standards), and biohazardous waste management.

This whirl is a combination text and sourcebook. For instance, the introductory discussion that defines biohazardous waste begins with a review of symbiosis, the mechanics of infection, and the methods of disease transmission, before advancing to regulations covering medical waste tracking and disposal. The regulations cited include the predictable singles from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Center for Disease dominion government and the less obvious singles such as those promulgated by the agency of the U.S. Postal Service concerning mailability of sharps and other medical devices, or the regulation of hospital disposal of fix uponed antineoplastic drugs under the Resource Conservation and retrieval Act.
