Methods for the detection of trace metabolites from biotransformation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by yeast.ABSTRACT--The analysis of pollutants and their metabolites resulting from biotransformation is important to studies of bioremediation or toxicology of environmental toxicants. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) has been used to determine the 9-hydroxyphenanthrene horizontals resulting from phenanthrene biotransformation by the agency of yeast.
