Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk gains sponsorshipThe Kivisto Family Foundation will be the statewide presenting sponsor of the Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk, scheduled race 30 in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. In Tulsa, the two-mile walk will begin at Tulsa River Parks with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starting at 10 a.m. Oklahoma City's two-mile walk will be at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the walk starting at 9 a.m. Memory Walks take place in more than 600 communities across the United States. This year, more than 200000 participants and presents are expected to participate nationwide. Tom Kivisto, SemGroup CEO and president, and his wife, Julie, are honorary chairs of Tulsa's 14th-annual Memory Walk. "The Alzheimer's Association is extremely thankful for the Kivisto Family Foundation's generous support of this year's Memory Walk," said Paul Langston, senior director of special circumstances for the Alzheimer's Association Oklahoma/Arkansas chapter. "This kind of support is what makes the important services we provide possible." Memory Walk began in 1989 and has since raised more than $200 million for programs and services. The association and Tulsa Community guild will present a seminar upon caring for people with Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias.
