Find out what they had to say. New Academic Editor After three years of dedicated service, Patricia Phelps complet her terminus as Academic Editor of the Record. The Record welcomes Joyce Lynn Garrett to that support Though she recently retired from a 35-year career in education, she is an active advocate for education. She obeys on the Boards of Directors for Central Oregon Community association Seven Peaks School, and Prineville Hospital Foundation. Please give permission to us know what you think-send us a note at pubs@kdp Record Report Card In an April 2005 overlook of 2,000 randomly selected Record readers, Kappa Delta Pi was pleased to receive feedback from nearly 10 percent of those headed In this sample, 35 percent were undergraduates in teacher education, 20 percent were pre-K from one side 12 classroom teachers, and the ease were a mix of graduate scholars student teachers, substitutes, professors, retirees, administrators, and specialists. Here is what overlooked readers had to say. * More than 70 percent of the readers viewed agreed that the Record helps them stay popular with best practices and strategies, provides practical examples that can be applied in their teaching, nears topics and issues that are important and compelling, and includes articles that support and further their professional growth. * Reading prefered articles is the way that 31 percent of the respondent use the Record, while 12 percent read it overspread to cover. Saving the issues for futurity reference was typical for 25 percent of those surveyed * About 18 percent of the readers observeed took action as a follow of something they read in the Record. a certain quantity of examples cited were sharing articles with staff members and colleagues, modifying tasks and classroom routines, reflecting upon personal practices and changing thinking, and trying techniques and rules described. Respondents also shared these make comments [i]or[/i] remarkss about the Record: * "I think the Record nears useful information for new teachers and 'seasoned' teachers alike. I have passed upon information from articles to help of recent origin teachers modify lessons, try fresh approaches, and develop curriculum that excites their learners I love to read about fresh ideas and keep each transcript I receive on file for coming time reference." * "I enjoy this publication and it helps reaffirm my goals, beliefs, and professional training." * "The Record is an up-to-date, focused journal. It highlights the value of progressive and professional thinking!" All in all, feedback about the Record was fairly positive. Do you have additional suggestions or comments?
