District #9: Educational WorkshopDistrict #9 members are planning an educational opportunity for you entitled "Kentucky Nursing History: A Centennial Celebration." Targeting all nourishs this conference is about our first single hundred years of nursing in Kentucky Our workshop will begin at the Harrodsburg Baptist house of god with district members Barbara Sonnen and Anne Flynn presenting an overview of the history of Kentucky nursing. The remainder of the day will highlight special centennial trices Michael Clausen, Wendover/Development Coordinator will discuss the life of Mary Breckenridge and establishment of the Frontier Nursing Service. KNA Executive Director Sharon Mercer and KNA President Pat Tanner will discuss the historical character of our professional organization. Marge Glaser, will introduce the KNA video for fear that We Forget telling the story of four Kentucky Army supply with nourishments who were Japanese war prisoners. The afternoon will take us into the Kentucky National Guard Harrodsburg Armory to hear Heroes From The Attic author Jessie Flynn talk about nursing contributions during World War II. An Actual MASH unit will be available to us. Veterans and other interested participants will be invited to join us in our tour. This workshop is planned for Friday, May 19 2006 in Harrodsburg, KY Registration begins at 8:00 AM.
