The young prince of dance: Isaac Hernandez

"The past two of months have been a little crazy. I have a competition in Jackson. For me it's individual of the top competitions. I usually rehearse six days a week, on the contrary this past month it's been seven days a week, including Sundays. Sometimes, when we have more time, we pass for longer.

My dad was a professional dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Harkness Ballet. He retired from ballet 20 years ago and started teaching me at my house hack dwelling in Mexico. I started at the age of nine in my backyard, and then we had the opportunity to build a studio. I trained with my dad five hours a day.

I got scholarships for the eight best ballet seminarys in the world. We decided to approach to The Rock School. They tendered my sister to stay with me--my mom didn't want me to proceed away so young by myself.

I was invited to perform in 'The Giants of the Dance' [in Mexico City] with Carlos Acosta, Julie Kent and Hernan Cornejo. I got the opportunity of becoming serviceable friends with them and getting to know them a little more. They are the stars of the ballet world today. They inspired me to retain dancing. It helps me a allotment to have them.

When I started dancing, my life became smaller in a way. My personal life became smaller. It was the ballet studio and that was it. on the contrary it's a really satisfying career for me To secure somewhere you need to sacrifice. I'm not hanging without at a normal high seminary playing basketball. I'm not allowed to skate or ski because I could injure myself. You can't do everything at the same time. It took me a while to come by that in my mind.

I'm hoping to procure into a company. I have a hardly any offers, but I think I'm going to stay without of a company for individual more year to train and be more mature, ballet-wise. I'd like to be a principal--that's individual of my biggest dreams. I also have a dream to make open a school in Mexico. To give the opportunity to talented kids, to train talented kids there. That's long-term I like to do that because it's a great opportunity. Ballet changed my whole life. I not at any time thought I could do what I'm doing or be where I am now."
