CREATIVE WRITING CONTESTAn awards form and reception marked a special night April 4 as 23 Warren shire students gathered in the library auditorium to celebrate their achievements as writers. The pupils in grades five through 12 submitted entries into the Friends of the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library's 27th Annual Creative Writing debate which was divided into six categories: 5th6th grade metrical composition 7th-9th grade poetry, 10th-12th grade poesy 5"'-6th grade prose, 7th-9lh grade dull 10th-12th grade prose. Vicksburg community members proffered to judge the entries and awarded first, next to the first and Honorable Mentions in each catetgory. Each year, during National Library Week, the library entertainers a reception and awards rite to honor these award winners. The scholars joined by their family members and friends, received certificates, cash prizes for first and next to the first place and a copy of a booklet listing all of the winners and their winning entries. The awards were not absented by Library Director Deb Mitchell and Assistant Director Jennifer A. Smith and the cash prizes were donated through the Friends of the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library.
